Spring brunch outfit with color

Is it just me or it feels like winter just never ends?! I am very much ready to ditch my coats and boots (still love you but see you in 8 months), and opt for some skin-showing pieces for a change. That’s why for the past weekend, my outfits included tops with back cutouts two days in a row!

The following look in this post is what I wore for a Sunday brunch with my husband. The way I put an outfit together, usually starts from picking out one key piece – if you have to beat this “I have nothing to wear” anxiety like I do every morning, you should definitely try this approach. The reason is quite straightforward: making the decision for one single item is 100 times less painful and stressful than bringing together everything in a look all at once. Once you settle on the central piece, the focal point of your ensemble, building up the entire outfit around this piece is just incremental.

Like in this look, my starting point was the wrap skirt, which has this bright red color and makes me cheerful every time I see it. To pair with this high waisted A-line skirt and accentuate the waistline even more, I picked a simple and sleek form fitting black top with a crossover back detail.  The next step for me was to throw on a mustard jacket and add some more color to this look. Finally, accessorize however you like it. What I chose were these delicate and exquisite metals from Thomas Sabo (c/o).
