Rent the Runway review

Do you have something that has been on your to-do list since forever? For me Rent the Runway is clearly one of them. This past weekend however, I finally ticked it off my list and I’m so glad that I did!

The whole story was like this, weeks ago a great great friend of mine invited us to her engagement party last Saturday (huge congrats again Haley! ) and of course I was planning to plan for my outfit the moment I got the invitation – what’s more important than picking the best dress, right?! Well, as you can imagine, my good old procrastination got the best of me (AGAIN!!) and I had no clue what to wear until last Wednesday. I was in full panic mode when I realized the party was three days away – and ladies,  it was no joke, you know what I’m talking about.

Then I stumbled upon this gorgeous dress by Milly on Nordstrom –  off-the-shoulder, cascade sleeves, slit on one side, everything was right up my alley except for the color, while Nordstrom had this dress in black, navy and green, all beautiful and classy, what I was looking for was something with a warmer touch. And guess what, when I typed in the name of the dress in the Google search bar, Rent the Runway popped out, same dress in this ravishing orange red hue, with 1/8 of the retail price.

It literally took me no more than three seconds to make the call, although at that point I still had my reservations: What if they couldn’t deliver it in two days? Or, what happens if it doesn’t fit? Truth is, Rent the Runway has it all figured out.  Long story short, when you order an item on their site, you pick one size you prefer and another one as a back up. Turned out this strategy was a lifesaver. Like in my case, my preferred size was out of order so Rent the Runway shipped out my back up size with another very similar dress in my preferred size. The back up size worked perfect for me and even if it hadn’t, I could go with dress #2 without any problem.

Overall I am very much content with my first ever Rent the Runway experience, and personally I won’t hesitate to go back again especially for special occasions.
